Arquitectura y contexto

Abstract

El proyecto de grado buscó establecer la relación entre la arquitectura y el contexto urbano, en el barrio El Cortijo en Cali, para la composición de un jardín infantil. El problema a resolver fue la desarticulación que existe entre el contexto y el jardín infantil, el propósito central fue optimizar la relación desde la actividad entre el proyecto y el contexto físico. La metodología utilizada para el desarrollo de la investigación estuvo basada en el análisis de obras y tratados de arquitectura. Este análisis permitió reconocer cuatro estrategias de composición; la primera, es la multifuncionalidad del programa arquitectónico, la segunda, es el uso de patios interiores como extensión de las aulas, la tercera es la imagen del proyecto como consolidador de identidad, la cuarta es la articulación del proyecto con el contexto (este entendido desde tres maneras de aproximación) Siguiendo así, esta metodología fue contrastada con los aspectos teóricos basados en autores como Bernard Leupen quien habla de que el contexto no está ligado a una escala física o temporal completa, Christian Norbert-Schulz e Ian Bentley, describen identidad del lugar la cual es creado a partir de las circunstancias tangibles o intangibles por las cuales el contexto es caracterizado, por otro lado, Josep Muntañola y José Luque Valdivia tratan la arquitectura ligada al contexto. El proyecto estuvo basado teóricamente a lo propuesto por los autores previamente mencionados y como en cada uno de sus tratados hablan de la arquitectura como el medio para articular y ser parte de la identidad ya existente del contexto urbano en el cual es implantado el proyecto arquitectónico. El aporte del proyecto fue el reconocimiento de estrategias que permitieron la integración y articulación del contexto con el objeto arquitectónico, por medio del espacio público, y las visuales dentro y fuera del proyecto para resaltar el contexto intangible.

The degree project sought to stablish the relationship between the architecture and the urban context, in the Cortijo neighborhood in Cali, for the composition of a kindergarten. The problem to be solved was the disarticulation that exist between the context and the kindergarten, the main purpose was to optimize the relationship from the activity between the project and the physical context. The methodology used for the development of the research was based on the analysis of architectural works and treatises. This analysis allowed the recognition of four compositional strategies; the first, is the multifunctionality of the architectural program, the second is the use of interior courtyards as an extension of the classrooms, the third, is the image of the project as an identity consolidator, the fourth is the articulation of the project with the context (this understanding from three ways of approach). Following this way, this methodology was contrasted with the theorical aspects based on authors such as Bernard Leupen who talks about the context not being linked to a complete physical or temporal scale, Christian Norberg-Schulz and Ian Bentley describe the identity of the place which is created from the tangible or intangible circumstances by which the context is characterized, on the other hand, Josep Muntañola and José Luque Valdivia deal with the architecture linked to the context. The project was theoretically based on what was proposed by the aforementioned authors and how in each of their treatises they talk about architecture as the means to articulate and be part of the existing identity of the urban context in which the architectural project is implemented. The contribution of the project was the recognition of strategies that allowed the integration and articulation of the context with the architectural object, through the public space, and visuals inside and outside the project to highlight the intangible context.
