This project consists of designing the Vivir en Armonía facility, located in the historic center of
Armero-Guayabal, in the department of Tolima, Colombia. Vivir en Armonía seeks to integrate species of
Meliponines (stingless bees) into an urban and residential area through prototypes that are harmoniously
unified with both the structure and the surrounding environment of the facility, in this case a biocultural
and research center dedicated to Meliponinos.
The proposal brings together conservation and environmental education strategies through the
creation and implementation of architectural prototypes that support their habitat and reproduction,
allowing stingless bees to nest and coexist with humans without affecting daily activities or the ecological
balance of the territory.
