Muwün: Un Santuario donde la Vida Respira en Libertad

Abstract

El proyecto plantea la creación de un santuario de fauna silvestre orientado a la conservación y restauración del hábitat animal, frente a problemáticas generadas por la expansión urbana, la deforestación y el tráfico ilegal de especies, que han puesto en riesgo la supervivencia de numerosas especies en el territorio colombiano. En este contexto, los animales se asumen como los usuarios centrales del proyecto, lo que orienta las decisiones arquitectónicas y paisajísticas hacia el bienestar, la protección y la restauración de sus hábitats.

Más que un espacio de confinamiento, el santuario se concibe como un lugar de refugio y regeneración donde los animales puedan habitar en condiciones acordes con su entorno natural. Al mismo tiempo, la propuesta busca generar conciencia en la sociedad mediante la visibilización del valor de la biodiversidad y la importancia de protegerla, promoviendo una relación ética y respetuosa entre los seres humanos y las demás especies.

The project proposes the creation of a wildlife sanctuary aimed at the conservation and restoration of animal habitats, in response to problems caused by urban expansion, deforestation, and illegal wildlife trade, which have endangered the survival of numerous species in Colombia. In this context, animals are considered the central users of the project, guiding architectural and landscape design decisions toward their welfare, protection, and habitat restoration. Rather than a space of confinement, the sanctuary is conceived as a place of refuge and regeneration, where animals can live in conditions consistent with their natural environment. At the same time, the proposal seeks to raise public awareness by highlighting the value of biodiversity and the importance of protecting it, promoting an ethical and respectful relationship between human beings and other species.
