This thesis addresses the lack of connection between architecture
and nature nowadays. Therefore, the following problem arises:
architectural spaces that are disconnected from nature can affect people's
perception of the environment and their mental well-being. To respond
to this problem, biophilic architecture is considered, which explores how
nature can help people in different ways, such as reducing stress,
improving cognitive functions, and promoting overall well-being. The
main objective is to integrate architectural spaces with nature by
implementing biophilic strategies that help solve the problem. As a
response to the identified issue, a gerontological center is proposed,
located in the small town of Chinauta, focused on elderly people, aiming
to improve their well-being, since this population often lives in closed
spaces where nature is not present.
