Terminal de Transporte Intermodal como Elemento Articulador en la Planeación Urbana y Regional en La Dorada Caldas

Abstract

La Dorada es un municipio colombiano ubicado al extremo oriente del departamento de Caldas, en la región conocida como el Magdalena Medio. Limita al oriente con el Río Magdalena y dentro de su marco territorial alberga las principales vías que conectan el interior del territorio colombiano con las diferentes áreas metropolitanas del país. Vías como la Ruta del Sol y la nueva generación de Vías 4G son corredores importantes que hacen posible la comercialización e integración del territorio colombiano para mantener su economía. Es decir, es una región importante para la movilidad del país por poseer del mismo modo un corredor férreo ya propuesto que conecta el centro de la cabecera municipal con Santa Marta, pero pese a los malos manejos del estado y una falta de inversión para la rehabilitación de este corredor; La ruta actualmente no se encuentra en uso. Es por ello que, gracias a su ventaja geoestratégica por poseer la red hídrica más importante del país, el municipio de La Dorada Caldas se convierte potencialmente en un eje articulador frente a una conectividad regional. Por lo tanto, se propone le diseño de una terminal de transporte intermodal en el municipio de La Dorada; que dará un alcance al 70% de la conectividad del Magdalena Medio y del mismo modo generar e impulsar las dinámicas sociales, culturales y económicas del municipio a través de una integración regional que atraiga turistas y ponga en el mapa a La Dorada Caldas como el principal destino turístico por implementar nuevos sistemas de transportes como; el férreo y la navegación fluvial. Por consiguiente, al construir una terminal de transporte intermodal que integre los sistemas férreos, fluvial y vial, se deberán trazar rutas de accesibilidad que no afecten los tratamientos urbanísticos del suelo que tiene planteado el municipio y de igual manera analizarlo bajo los índices del volumen de tráfico. De este modo al tener una terminal de transporte intermodal de tanto alcance se deberán tener estrategias de sostenibilidad que mitiguen la huella ecológica producida por el edificio y que a su vez sea sustentable frente al funcionamiento. Para concluir el proyecto busca ser un nodo articulador que mejorará el flujo transitorio del transporte pesado y liviano. El proyecto llevará por nombre “Terminal Puerta del Sol”.

Bordered by the Magdalena river on the east containing the main roads that connect the inner parts of the country with the multiple metropolitan areas. Roads like Ruta del Sol and the new generation of Vías 4G son are vital corridors that allow the commercialisation and integration of the national territory to sustain its economy. Basically, this is a key region for the country's movility. Furthermore, it is appropriate to highlight that, there is a railway going through La Dorada whose functioning would connect the town's centre with Santa Marta. However, that is only an ideal scenario, since it is currently not operating, due to poor management from the State as well as lack of maintenance and funding. Therefore, due to its ideal geographical location and paired with the fact that it also contains the most important hydric network of the country, La Dorada, Caldas has ample potential to be an neural point for the region's connectivity. Hence, the design of a intermodal transportation terminal is proposed for La Dorada. Providing a 70% improvement for the Magdalena Medio's connectivity. While, at the same time, creating and incentivising the social, cultural and economic trends of the town through a regional integration that would attract tourists and place La Dorada on the map as the main tourist destination for its diverse transportation options; railway and fluvial. Thus, building a multimodal transportation terminal, that properly integrate highway, railway and fluvial options, accessibility routes must be drawn that do not affect the urban treatment of the land that has raised the municipality and similarly analyze it under the índices of traffic volumen. In this way, having a long-range intermodal transport terminal should have sustainability strategies that mitigate the ecological footprint produced by the building and that in turn is sustainable against operation. To conclude the Project seeks to be an articulating node that Will improve the transient Flow of heavy and light transport. The Project Will be called “Terminal Puerta del Sol”.
