Rehabilitación de las instalaciones del antiguo hospital San Rafael de Facatativá, patrimonio arquitectónico nacional

Abstract

El abandono de edificios declarados como Bien de Interés Cultural - BIC conduce, entre otros aspectos, a la pérdida de la memoria histórica, de la memoria colectiva sobre lo que, en alguna época, representaba la arquitectura para la ciudad y los ciudadanos. Es el caso del HOSPITAL SAN RAFAEL DE FACATATIVÁ, inaugurado en 1932 y declarado BIC nacional en 1993, el cual brindo por 71 años servicios al área de influencia de la sabana de occidente del departamento de Cundinamarca, ya que estuvo en funcionamiento hasta el año 2001. La construcción y diseño cuentan una historia del lugar y la importancia que tuvo en la época para la zona donde se edificó y sus alrededores, el antiguo HOSPITAL REGIONAL SAN RAFAEL se localiza en el municipio de Facatativá. Con el objetivo de rehabilitar el monumento, y lograr que el mismo preste a futuro un servicio a la comunidad, se propone el diseño de espacios para el nuevo uso de Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud adaptando la edificación a las normas constructivas actuales, se re caracterización e investigación previa, con base en la información suministrada por la Alcaldía Municipal de Facatativá y el Ministerio de Cultura. La intervención propone recuperar la habitabilidad de edifico conservando los rasgos arquitectónicos en términos de estructura y fachada, respetando su esencia y adaptando el uso a educación.

The abandonment of buildings declared as Asset of Cultural Interest - BIC leads, among other aspects, to the loss of historical memory, of collective memory of what, at one time, architecture represented for the city and citizens. This is the case of the San Rafael de Facatativá Hospital, inaugurated in 1932 and declared a national BIC in 1993, which provided services for 71 years to the area of influence of the western savannah of the department of Cundinamarca, since it was in operation until 2001. The construction and design tell a story of the place and the importance it had at the time for the area where it was built and its surroundings, the old San Rafael Regional Hospital is located in the municipality of Facatativá. With the aim of rehabilitating the monument, and ensuring that it provides a service to the community in the future, the design of spaces for the new use of the Faculty of Health Sciences is proposed, adapting the building to current construction standards, recharacterization and previous research, based on the information provided by the Municipal Mayor's Office of Facatativá and the Ministry of Culture . The intervention proposes to recover the habitability of the building preserving the architectural features in terms of structure and façade, respecting its essence and adapting the use to education.
