The Normandy sector owes its origins to the development in the West called by the creation of Calle 26, which is a strategic connecting axis between the Airport and Dorado and the center of the capital, among other reasons, made businessmen and women urban planners will fix their eyes on this avenue, creating a new facet of Bogotá, with large business centers, large extensions of public space, areas cultural, parks and residential buildings. Throughout its development it has helped the renovation of the industrial zone, valuing the land over time. In Its 15 kilometers of extension manages to connect in a few minutes the influence of the airport with the centers of power, intersecting with the avenues more important, generating important nodes that have been developing and extending its influence more and more to the interior of the plot, enhancing the ground and demanding new developments and influx of people. Being the airport the last point of interest on the road axis, this has had a considerable influence in the development of the West, since its expansions and air operations determined the heights of the buildings in the towns of Fontibón and Engativate for a long time, but the constant change of this area seems to go from the hand in hand with the effects of the airport, since for 20 years evidenced an increase in the number of floors, in areas that no longer have affected by air traffic, and generated the arrival of investment that causes a new demand for services and housing. Taking advantage of this growth dynamic, it must go hand in hand with development of this environment, with projects such as: the CAN city, public space plans of Calle 26, in order to further consolidate the sector and continue with a single axis of growth, which is why sticking to the POT is key. Based on this, it was sought in the project that its implementation and connection with the ecological structure fit in with the plans that are currently being advanced and not fall back on infrastructure that the city has suffered in recent years.en
