The housing model proposed by the real estate sector has been adapted to a standardized construction system, which has generated housing that does not respond to the needs of its inhabitants because its design does not allow for evolution over time or adaptation to different forms of housing occupation. Thus, the general objective is to analyze how social housing typologies that develop flexible spaces are able to provide a better response to the lifestyles of their inhabitants and allow greater adaptability compared to the current housing model. This will be achieved through a qualitative research methodology in which we seek to recognize the determinants that influence the ways of living in the housing of users who are focused on VIS housing projects, analyze the current housing model through a case study, and the definition of the concept of flexibility for which we will refer to authors such as Rolando Cubillos and Leandro Perez who define it as the ability of a space to easily adapt to the different needs of its inhabitants. This will be done in order to understand what is the best way for housing to respond to the needs of its inhabitants, and will be developed as a contribution to a social housing project focused on flexible spaces as a response to the lifestyles of inhabitants of a medium and low socioeconomic level.eng
