estructural SAP 2000. Civil engineering has many approaches, such as the case of the branch of engineering that is
responsible for the design, structuring and execution of bridges, which allow to avoid
obstacles, making the routes through which the bridge is located more efficient and faster.
Over the years, bridges have evolved according to the needs of humanity. Until the beginning
of the 19th century, bridges were designed and built by másteres with empirical procedures,
but the constant process of economic and technological growth from the industrial revolution,
with the invention of cast iron, wrought iron and steel, the school was created civil
engineering and the appearance of structures.
The main objective of this thesis was the design of the bridge "Flandes - Parque Central",
located in Pasca Cundinamarca, currently this bridge is not in good condition, due to lack of
maintenance and its constant use. The bridge to be designed consists of reinforced concrete,
the superstructure consists of the design of a solid slab with beams, the infrastructure consists
of the design of abutments and a central pier, it is to be clarified, which refrains from
presenting the design of the foundations, whose design is based on the CCP-14 standard.
In the first place, the pre - dimensioning of the bridge was designed, making an
extension of a lane, a bike lane and a pedestrian path; followed by this, the evaluation of
dynamic and static loads was carried out to determine the values of the width of the beams
and the thickness of the slab; Subsequently, the reinforcement of the steel was calculated,
these being the permissive calculations for the corresponding design of the abutments and,
finalizing its analysis in the SAP 2000 structural program.
