Restauración e integración del teatro San Jorge y su entorno en el centro histórico : Escuela de Artes San Jorge

Abstract

El objetivo académico de este trabajo de grado es proponer una restauración patrimonial del Teatro San Jorge integrándolo a su entorno. Se ubica en el sector de San Victorino dentro del centro histórico de Bogotá. El tema a abordar consiste en como por medio de aspectos históricos y urbano- arquitectónicos se llega a un análisis que permite una aproximación al inmueble y la relación de este con su entorno en la realidad actual; consolidando así la propuesta de restauración e intervención para atender las necesidades de espacios para el fomento de las artes. Referente al Teatro San Jorge, se realizó un estudio del estado del arte, con el fin de entender su composición, su estado y características referentes a su morfología; que permitieron proponer un diseño urbano-arquitectónico que devuelva al teatro a la contemporaneidad, planteando un equipamiento educativo, con enfoque a las artes. Así la propuesta conserva el teatro, su uso original a través del diseño de La Escuela de Artes San Jorge, transformando las dinámicas de su entorno actual.

The academic objective of this degree work is to propose a patrimonial restoration of the San Jorge Theater integrating it to its surroundings. It is located in the sector of San Victorino within the historical center of Bogota. The issue to be addressed is how, through historical and urban-architectural aspects, an analysis is reached that allows an approximation to the building and its relationship with its surroundings in the current reality; consolidating the proposal of restoration and intervention to meet the needs of space for the promotion of the arts. Concerning the San Jorge Theater, a study of the state of the art was realized, in order to understand its composition, its state and characteristics referring to its morphology; that allowed to propose an urban-architectural design that returns to the theater to the contemporaneity, proposing an educational equipment, with focus to the arts. Thus the proposal preserves the theater, its original use through the design of The School of Arts San Jorge, transforming the dynamics of its current environment
