Habitando el Borde Anfibio: Malecón Híbrido como Estrategia de Adaptación Climática en Puebloviejo, Magdalena

Abstract

La presente investigación aborda la vulnerabilidad socioambiental en Puebloviejo, Magdalena, centrándose específicamente en el corregimiento de Tasajera. Este territorio anfibio ha sido profundamente impactado por la fragmentación espacial ocasionada por la Ruta Nacional 90 y los efectos progresivos del cambio climático. Dicho escenario ha provocado una ruptura en la relación histórica y simbiótica entre la comunidad y el sistema hídrico de la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, lo que se ha traducido en una severa degradación de la economía pesquera local y en el debilitamiento sostenido de la identidad territorial de sus habitantes. Frente a esta problemática, el estudio propone una visión proyectual que busca reconciliar el entorno natural con el construido, articulando la técnica y la cultura dentro de un mismo sistema espacial. Para ello, se formula el diseño de un «malecón anfibio», concebido como una infraestructura híbrida que desafía y trasciende la lógica tradicional de contención rígida. Esta propuesta arquitectónica asume la dinámica hídrica y la constante variabilidad del agua no como una amenaza que deba aislarse, sino como la condición estructurante fundamental y el soporte principal del habitar humano en el territorio. A nivel técnico y espacial, el proyecto integra una red de plataformas elevadas y módulos comerciales flexibles diseñados para adaptarse orgánicamente a las fluctuaciones del ecosistema. La intervención prioriza el uso de elementos constructivos pertinentes al contexto, empleando madera tratada y sistemas modulares de bajo impacto ambiental. Como resultado, la materialización de este malecón no solo reactiva el espacio público y devuelve la mirada de la comunidad hacia el agua, sino que dignifica las prácticas pesqueras tradicionales y fortalece de manera integral la resiliencia climática del asentamiento.

This research addresses the socio-environmental vulnerability in Puebloviejo, Magdalena, focusing specifically on the village of Tasajera. This amphibious territory has been profoundly impacted by the spatial fragmentation caused by National Route 90 and the progressive effects of climate change. This scenario has caused a rupture in the historical and symbiotic relationship between the community and the hydrological system of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, resulting in a severe degradation of the local fishing economy and the sustained weakening of its inhabitants' territorial identity. In response to this issue, the study proposes a design vision that seeks to reconcile the natural and built environments, articulating technique and culture within a single spatial system. To this end, it formulates the design of an "amphibious boardwalk," conceived as a hybrid infrastructure that challenges and transcends the traditional logic of rigid containment. This architectural proposal assumes the hydrological dynamics and the constant variability of water not as a threat to be isolated, but as the fundamental structuring condition and the primary support for human habitation in the territory. On a technical and spatial level, the project integrates a network of elevated platforms and flexible commercial modules designed to adapt organically to the ecosystem's fluctuations. The intervention prioritizes the use of contextually relevant building elements, employing treated wood and low-environmental-impact modular systems. As a result, the materialization of this boardwalk not only reactivates public space and turns the community's gaze back toward the water, but also dignifies traditional fishing practices and comprehensively strengthens the settlement's climate resilience
