The Dash project is a retail space model designed to generate new interpretations of secondhand and upcycled clothing (garments made from other garments). This text will explain the purpose and process of this project, based on an analysis of the symbolism and the process of meaning-making through which new meanings are generated. First, a problem will be established, along with a target and potential audience, and their respective characteristics within the framework of circular fashion, a sustainable economic model that aims to keep a product in use for as long as possible. A study of current data on consumption figures and the socialization of interests and needs will be presented. Second, a conceptual framework will be developed regarding the processes of symbolic interpretation between users and garments, and how space influences this scenario. Finally, a spatial proposal for ephemeral architecture will be developed to showcase and evaluate the research results and correlation analysis directed toward the symbolic retail space designed around the premise: “Reused garments offer greater value than their original products.”En
