Saberes Ancestrales: Diseño de Espacios Resilientes en Comunidades Wayuu

Abstract

Este proyecto se presenta como una respuesta integral a los desafíos que enfrentan las comunidades Wayuu en La Guajira, proponiendo el diseño de espacios resilientes y autosuficientes. La propuesta busca integrar los saberes ancestrales de la comunidad con prácticas arquitectónicas sostenibles y tecnologías avanzadas, creando un entorno que no solo resista las extremas condiciones ambientales de la región, sino que también mejore la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. El diseño contempla la construcción de una granja autosostenible que emplea técnicas tradicionales y modernas, optimizando el uso de recursos locales y promoviendo la producción agrícola adaptada al entorno árido. Se incluirán áreas para la cría de animales nativos, lo que asegura la sostenibilidad local y fomenta su uso común. Además, se establecerá un mercado para exhibir y comercializar los productos cultivados, fortaleciendo así la economía comunitaria. La iniciativa también contempla la creación de un centro de aprendizaje y un centro cultural, enfocados en preservar la cultura Wayuu y sus rituales. Este enfoque integral armoniza las técnicas ancestrales con innovaciones tecnológicas, generando un espacio autosuficiente que impulsa el desarrollo social, económico y cultural de la comunidad. Al hacerlo, se busca no solo enfrentar los retos actuales, sino también garantizar un futuro resiliente y próspero, respetando y preservando las tradiciones que definen la identidad Wayuu.

This project presents an integrated response to the challenges faced by the Wayuu communities in La Guajira, proposing the design of resilient and self-sufficient spaces. The proposal aims to integrate the ancestral knowledge of the community with sustainable architectural practices and advanced technologies, creating an environment that not only withstands the extreme environmental conditions of the region but also improves the quality of life for its inhabitants. The design includes the construction of a self-sustaining farm that employs traditional and modern techniques, optimizing the use of local resources and promoting agricultural production adapted to the arid environment. Areas for raising native animals will be included, ensuring local sustainability and encouraging communal use. Additionally, a market will be established to showcase and sell the cultivated products, thereby strengthening the community economy. The initiative also encompasses the creation of a learning center and a cultural center, focusing on preserving Wayuu culture and its rituals. This comprehensive approach harmonizes ancestral techniques with technological innovations, generating a selfsufficient space that promotes social, economic, and cultural development within the community. In doing so, it seeks not only to address current challenges but also to ensure a resilient and prosperous future while respecting and preserving the traditions that define Wayuu identity.
