Instituto etno-educativo "Suttia Ekirajawaa" para niños y jóvenes de la comunidad indígena Wayüu

Abstract

En esta tesis, se pretende implantar un Instituto Etno-Educativo llamado “Suttia Ekirajawaa” ubicado en el departamento de La Guajira al norte de Colombia, territorio habitado por los indígenas Wayüu.

La problemática en cuánto a la educación de la zona anteriormente mencionada, surge desde diversos años atrás y se transmite desde el inacceso que tienen los jóvenes Wayüu a la educación, no solo en su departamento, sino, en el resto del país, al no involucrar (los colegios existentes) sus creencias, tradiciones, prácticas sociales y su cultura en dichas enseñanzas.

Por lo anterior, se evaluarán una serie de análisis del departamento de La Guajira y de la cultura de la comunidad indígena Wayüu, para así conformar un instituto adecuado para la etnia, teniendo en cuenta sus creencias y tradiciones y al mismo tiempo, mitigando las problemáticas anteriormente mencionadas, con el diseño e implementación del instituto etno-educativo que refleje lo anterior, en su arquitectura.

Finalmente, se pretende brindar a esta población vulnerable, nuevas oportunidades de empleo y oportunidades de vida en un futuro haciendo uso de la cartilla etno-educativa Anaa Akua’ipa1 como referente, utilizada actualmente en diversas instituciones Wayüu para la guía de dichas escuelas.

In this thesis, the aim is to establish an ethno-educational Institute called “Suttia Ekirajawaa” located in La Guajira, northern Colombia, a territory inhabited by the Wayüu indigenous people. The problem regarding education in the aforementioned area has arisen for several years and is transmitted from the inaccessibility that the youth have to education, not only in their department, but, in the rest of the country, by not involving (the existing schools) their beliefs, traditions, social practices and their culture in these teachings. Therefore, a series of analyzes of the department of La Guajira and the culture of the Wayüu indigenous community will be evaluated, in order to form an appropriate institute for the ethnic group, taking into account their beliefs and traditions and at the same time, mitigating the problems previously mentioned, with the design and implementation of the ethno-educational institute that reflects the above, in its architecture. Finally, it is intended to provide this vulnerable population with new employment and life opportunities in the future, using the Anaa Akua’ipa ethno-educational booklet as a reference, currently used in various Wayüu institutions to guide these schools.
