Hydrological modeling are tools implemented mainly for the study of the elevation of the water level of a fluvial body, (Hydrology, nd), (IDEAM - IDEAM, nd) however, for this research project will be performed a hydrological modeling of the Subbasin of the Teusacá River in order to analyze the flow of the sub-basin, to be used as an analysis tool by the Association of Community Public Services San Isidro I and II Sector San Luis and La Sureña ESP - ACUALCOS ESP, entity that provides the aqueduct and sewerage service to the San Isidro I and II, Sector San Luis and La Sureña neighborhoods of the town of Chapinero in the city of Bogotá and which is supplied from the upper part of the sub-basin. The ArcGIS and HEC-GeoHMS modeling software were implemented for the processing of secondary information collected in entities such as the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC), the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cundinamarca (CAR), the Government of Cundinamarca, among other entities. The sub-basin of the Teusacá River is located in the eastern hills of the city of Bogotá and in the northeastern part of the Bogotá River basin. It contains rural and urban areas in the department of Cundinamarca, in the municipalities of La Calera, Sopo, Guasca, Bogotá, Tocancipá, Chía and Ubaque. (District Secretary of Health, 2015) Initially, it was considered to use the ArcGIS and HEC-HMS software to calculate the flows of the Teusacá River sub-basin, however, as it did not have the information on VIII the daily precipitation of the stations located within the study area, essential information To carry out the modeling in HEC-HMS, it was necessary to implement the rational method and the United States Soil Conservation Service (SCS) unit hydrograph. For the calculation of the flow, these methods take into account the following parameters: areas, length of the channels, slope and land uses (obtained through ArcGIS), concentration time, intensity of precipitation and runoff coefficient (obtained through formulas). The United States Soil Conservation Service (SCS) unit hydrograph method is used for basins larger than 250 Ha. The result was that the total flow of the sub-basin is 26.76 m³ / s, and in microbasin 1, where the ACUALCOS E.S.P intake is located, it is 1.83 m³ / s. Due to the above and given that the aqueduct is authorized to capture 9 l / s, that is 0.009 m³ / s, it is evident that the micro-basin has the capacity to provide the flow required to be captured ACUALCOS E.S.P.eng
