asentamiento, absorción capilar y resistencia a compresión a 7, 14, 28 y 56 días.
| dc.description.abstract | This study evaluated the physical, thermal, and mechanical behavior of pastes and concretes with partial replacement of Type I Portland
cement by brick powder (PLR) at 7.5%, 15%, and 30%. Physicochemical characterization, semi-adiabatic calorimetry, setting time, slump,
capillary absorption, and compressive strength tests were performed at 7, 14, 28, and 56 days. The 15% PLR mixture showed the most
balanced performance, with higher initial densification, lower air content (1.22%), and strength comparable to the control, attributed to
heterogeneous nucleation and secondary pozzolanic reactivity. The 30% PLR mix exhibited higher capillary absorption (~3 times the
control) and lower final strength due to increased porosity and clinker dilution. The 15% PLR maintained a similar Tₘₐₓ to the control (23.5
°C), indicating efficient hydration and active internal curing. Overall, PLR is confirmed as a sustainable cementitious addition, with an
optimal content close to 15%. | En |
