Desarrollo de una aplicación web para fomentar el turismo en el municipio de Gachalá Cundinamarca conoce Gachalá

Abstract

Este proyecto de grado presenta el desarrollo e implementación de una aplicación web orientada a la promoción del turismo en el municipio de Gachalá, Cundinamarca. A través de una plataforma intuitiva y accesible, se busca centralizar la información turística, permitiendo a los visitantes consultar alojamientos, restaurantes, agencias, y realizar reservas de manera directa y sencilla. La investigación se fundamentó en un diagnóstico local que evidenció la falta de herramientas digitales especializadas para el turismo en el municipio, lo que limita su visibilidad y accesibilidad para potenciales visitantes. Durante el desarrollo, se emplearon tecnologías como Django para el backend, HTML, CSS y JavaScript para el frontend, y se integraron servicios externos como la pasarela de pagos Mercado Pago y la API de OpenAI (versión GPT 03-MINI), usada para brindar asistencia turística a través de un chat IA. Este trabajo no solo propone una solución tecnológica, sino que también promueve el turismo sostenible, fomenta el conocimiento del patrimonio local y apoya a los actores turísticos de la región. Con ello, se espera que la plataforma contribuya al crecimiento económico y social del municipio, facilitando una experiencia turística más organizada, eficiente y enriquecedora.

This undergraduate thesis presents the development and implementation of a web application aimed at promoting tourism in the municipality of Gachalá, Cundinamarca. Through an intuitive and accessible platform, the goal is to centralize tourism-related information, allowing visitors to view accommodations, restaurants, agencies, and make direct reservations easily. The project is based on a local diagnosis that revealed the lack of specialized digital tools for tourism in the area, which limits its visibility and accessibility for potential visitors. Throughout the development process, technologies such as Django for the backend, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend were used. External services like Mercado Pago for online payments and OpenAI’s API (GPT-3.5-turbo-mini version) were integrated to provide smart chat IA assistance focused on tourism information. The application was tested with local service providers, who responded positively to its usefulness and ease of use. This project not only offers a technological solution but also promotes sustainable tourism, encourages knowledge of local heritage, and supports tourism stakeholders in the region. The platform is expected to contribute to the economic and social growth of the municipality by making the tourist experience more organized, efficient, and enriching.
