Guía práctica para la implementación de las Normas NIIF S1 y S2 en Colombia : procedimientos, herramientas y beneficios

Abstract

Este documento presenta una guía práctica que busca apoyar a las empresas en la implementación de reportes relacionados con sostenibilidad y cambio climático, alineados con los estándares del Consejo de Normas Internacionales de Sostenibilidad (ISSB). Se mencionan y describen los aspectos más relevantes como gobernanza, estrategias, riegos y oportunidades, materialidad, entre otros, para la generación de reportes de sostenibilidad, teniendo como eje principal las NIIF S1 y S2, junto con estándares como el Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) y la Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). A través de una serie de investigaciones, se identifican los beneficios y alcances que las organizaciones pueden obtener al generar estos reportes, por ejemplo; la mejora al acceso a financiamiento sostenible, el fortalecimiento de su reputación, relación con los inversionistas, contribución al cuidado del medio ambiente. Esta investigación busca motivar a las empresas a contribuir al bien común, mediante la protección del medio ambiente y a su vez obtener beneficios empresariales, alineándose con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), realizando prácticas sostenibles. Se mencionan varias teorías y estudios sobre los beneficios que pueden obtener las empresas colombianas al implementar reportes de sostenibilidad. Se incluyen una serie de recomendaciones para implementar en el corto y largo plazo reportes de sostenibilidad, haciendo énfasis en como iniciar, como controlar, y como reportar. Sumado a esto se realiza una descripción detallada de los pasos necesarios para comenzar a aplicar NIIF S1 y S2. La guía ofrece un enfoque práctico que integra varios ejemplos reales de empresas colombianas, el diseño de estrategias de sostenibilidad y la aplicación de estándares internacionales. Se busca proporcionar a las organizaciones herramientas claras y efectivas para transitar hacia un modelo más sostenible, demostrando que este enfoque no solo contribuye al bien común y al cuidado del planeta, sino que también genera valor económico y financiero a largo plazo.

This document presents a practical guide that seeks to support companies in the implementation of reports related to sustainability and climate change, aligned with the standards of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). It mentions and describes the most relevant aspects such as governance, strategies, risks and opportunities, materiality, among others, for the generation of sustainability reports, having as main axis the IFRS S1 and S2, together with standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Through a series of research, the benefits and scope that organizations can obtain by generating these reports are identified, for example; improving access to sustainable financing, strengthening their reputation, relationship with investors, contribution to environmental care. This research seeks to motivate companies to contribute to the common good by protecting the environment and in turn obtain business benefits, aligning with the Sustainable Development 7 Goals (SDGs), by implementing sustainable practices. Several theories and studies on the benefits that Colombian companies can obtain by implementing sustainability reporting are mentioned. A series of recommendations are included to implement sustainability reports in the short and long term, with emphasis on how to start, how to control and how to report. In addition, there is a detailed description of the necessary steps to start applying IFRS S1 and S2. The guide offers a practical approach that integrates several real examples of Colombian companies, the design of sustainability strategies and the application of international standards. It seeks to provide organizations with clear and effective tools to move towards a more sustainable model, demonstrating that this approach not only contributes to the common good and care for the planet, but also generates long-term economic and financial value.
