This document analyzes the commercial behavior between Colombia and Mexico in a 10-year period beginning in 2011, in which variables such as: the main export products, the means of transport used, the customs of exit, the main exporting departments and companies, among others; are characterized to determine the evolution of outward trade and establish a comparative framework in which the trade relationship of the two countries is assessed, taking into account the free trade agreement and its use. To this end, a study is carried out on some databases extracted mainly from DANE, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Colombia, Procolombia, and other international sources such as the World Bank, the World Trade Organization and the Organization of American States. In this way, it is concluded that there is a rather strong economic relationship between the two nations, since in both senses each country represents a significant place in commercial development of the other, consolidating itself as two strategic partners comparing both regionally and globally. On the other hand, as economies differ considerably in size and historical development, there are some disparities in the composition and evolution of products and industries and export volumes, with Mexico having the greatest advantage, However, for Colombia it is still a profit relationship that contributes to the growth of its economy.en
