El rol de la ciberseguridad en las ciudades inteligentes

Abstract

En este artículo se abordará información relevante acerca de las ciudades inteligentes y la utilización de tecnología avanzada para mejorar el entorno y la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. Las ciudades inteligentes se enfocan principalmente en la sostenibilidad, la inclusión y la protección de los activos digitales de los activos inteligentes. Así mismo, las ciudades inteligentes son sostenibles ya que reducen costos optimizando el consumo de recursos. Por otro lado, la ciberseguridad forma parte esencial de las ciudades inteligentes ya que genera la protección de la infraestructura crítica y de los activos digitales de las personas, empresas y gobiernos contra ataques cibernéticos. Así mismo la ciberseguridad dentro de las ciudades inteligentes, dispone de desafíos complejos debido a que cuenta con riesgos como lo son los ataques cibernéticos, amenazas internas y vulnerabilidad de los sistemas. Por tal motivo, se deben implementar controles de seguridad adecuados, capacitar a los empleados de acuerdo con temas relacionados con ciberseguridad, se debe desarrollar un plan de respuesta de incidentes e invertir en ciberseguridad. Dicho de otra manera, el crecimiento exponencial de las poblaciones urbanas y las ciudades inteligentes presenta oportunidades como desafíos y estos deben abordarse de manera eficaz para garantizar que las ciudades inteligentes sean seguras, sostenibles y habitables.
