Un museo para el distrito creativo del Bronx: intervenir un sector patrimonial con un edificio nuevo

Abstract

Este trabajo de grado trata sobre la intervención en sectores con prexistencias patrimoniales, ya que existe una dificultad al momento de aproximarse y definir las estrategias arquitectónicas para el diseño de nuevas edificaciones en estos sectores. Es importante contribuir a la solución de este problema puesto que las transformaciones de las ciudades y los cambios en sus necesidades llevan a que cada vez más sectores con prexistencias patrimoniales necesiten ser intervenidos mediante la construcción de nuevos edificios, lo cual deja expuestas estas prexistencias al abandono, deterioro o intervenciones insensibles que degradan su estatus de patrimonio. Por tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo es diseñar un museo que responda a un contexto con prexistencias patrimoniales como el Distrito Creativo del Bronx (sector del Voto Nacional), mediante la implementación de estrategias arquitectónicas antes identificadas en proyectos análogos. Así se sustenta como hipótesis que a través del estudio de antecedentes proyectuales se pueden definir estrategias arquitectónicas coherentes para intervenir sectores con prexistencias patrimoniales.

This degree work deals with intervention in sectors with existing heritage since there is a difficulty when approaching and defining architectural strategies for the design of new buildings in these sectors. It is important to contribute to the solution of this problem since the transformations of cities and the changes in their needs lead to more and more sectors with existing heritage needing to be intervened through the construction of new buildings, which leaves these existing assets exposed to abandonment, deterioration or insensitive interventions that degrade its heritage status. Therefore, the objective of this work is to design a museum that responds to a context with preexisting heritage such as the Bronx Creative District (National Vote sector), through the implementation of architectural strategies previously identified in similar projects. Thus, the hypothesis is supported that through the study of project, coherent architectural strategies can be defined to intervene in sectors with pre-existing heritage.
