Estructura de un bono catástrofe, un instrumento financiero dirigido al cubrimiento de siniestros ocasionales por inundaciones

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se realiza un estudio sobre las variables más afectadas por la Ola Invernal durante los años 2010 a 2012; analizando las problemáticas que se desarrollan en el país a causa de estos fenómenos, por tal motivo se estudian algunas variables económicas (PIB, IPC e IED), el coeficiente de GINI y el índice de pobreza.

Seguidamente, se explican los Bonos Catástrofe, historia, características, ventajas y desventajas, con el fin de proponer diferentes instrumentos financieros en Colombia para transferir el riesgo de liquidez de las gobernaciones a inversionistas del mercado de capitales, y se realiza una valoración del bono atado a una matriz de probabilidad e impacto que mide el porcentaje de damnificados por inundaciones.

In the present work, a study is carried out on the variables most affected by the Winter Wave during the years 2010 to 2012; Analyzing the problems that develop in the country due to these phenomena, for this reason some economic variables (GDP, CPI and FDI), the GINI coefficient and the poverty index are studied.

Next, the Catastrophe Bonds, history, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages are explained, in order to propose different financial instruments in Colombia to transfer the liquidity risk of the governorates to capital market investors, and a valuation of the tied bond is made to a probability and impact matrix that measures the percentage of flood victims.
