De la competitividad al Sinergismo a Través de la Línea Férrea del Pacífico: Infraestructura, Patrimonio y Economías Sólidas

Abstract

El ferrocarril fue a finales del siglo XX el medio de transporte de pasajeros y carga más versátil y eficiente en su tiempo, sin embargo, debido a la decadencia producida por el desuso y la ausencia de mantenimiento de la infraestructura férrea, dicho panorama es la antítesis del contexto actual, pues, en el presente es prácticamente nulo su empleo lo que reduce de manera drástica las capacidades de aportación económica y de transporte.

La Línea Férrea del Pacífico, teniéndose en cuenta como un trazado existente que alberga en su trayecto distintas zonas del país con un claro potencial económico como el Puerto de Buenaventura y el Eje Cafetero, resultan siendo piezas claves en la aportación económica para la nación ya que poseen la capacidad de ofrecer y potencializar sus actividades y servicios urbanos si se cuenta una buena infraestructura vial y férrea.

Los puntos expuestos previamente son el objeto de estudio de la presente investigación, a través del estudio de la región objetivo se busca profundizar en las dinámicas territoriales mediante el análisis del contexto social, cultural y económico de los diferentes municipios pertenecientes a los departamentos de Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Caldas y Quindío. Adicionalmente, con la utilización de herramientas de análisis territorial, datos demográficos, cifras económicas y el uso de SIG, se pretende profundizar en el entendimiento del contexto global de los municipios seleccionados. En consecuencia, a través de la información obtenida, se provee una propuesta de un corredor intermodal, capaz de suplir, potencializar y generar diferentes relaciones entre las subregiones y mejorar las condiciones socioeconómicas de la región objetivo.

The railway was at the end of the 20th century the most versatile and efficient means of transporting passengers and cargo in its time, however, due to the decline caused by disuse and the lack of maintenance of the railway infrastructure, this panorama is the antithesis of the current context, because, in the present, its use is practically nil, which reduces drastically the capacities of economic contribution and transport. The Pacific Railway Line, taken into account as an existing route that houses on its way to different areas of the country with a clear economic potential such as the Port of Buenaventura and the Coffee Region, turning out to be key pieces in the economic contribution to the nation since it has the capacity to offer and enhance its activities and urban services if there is a good road and rail infrastructure. The points previously exposed are the object of study of the present investigation, Through the study of the target region, we seek to delve into the territorial dynamics through the analysis of the social, cultural and economic context of the different municipalities belonging to the departments of Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Caldas and Quindío. Additionally, with the use of territorial analysis tools, demographic data, economic figures and the use of GIS, it is intended to deepen the understanding of the context global of the selected municipalities. Consequently, through the information obtained, a proposal for an intermodal corridor is provided, capable of supplying, potentiating and generate different relations between the subregions and improve the conditions socioeconomic conditions of the target region.
