The present work studies the mechanical resistance of the subgrade of a road section of the municipality of Vianí Cundinamarca specifically in the "Los Pantanos" sector through two methods, the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer and the California Support Index (CBR) test, as well as evaluating whether there is a correlation between both tests. Three stages were carried out, the first corresponds to the field work using the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (PDC) equipment in which measurements were made every 20 meters to a total stretch of 400 meters, the second stage corresponds to the mechanical physical characterization of the subgrade of the material in the laboratory, finally, the third stage aimed to perform an analysis to validate if there is a correlation between the methods and in turn to know what is the appropriate correlation for the study soil according to the INVIAS guidelines. From the climatic point of view, the study is innovative and interesting since the data collection with the PDC (Dynamic Cone Penetrometer) equipment was carried out in two periods, in the rainy period and in the summer period, this with the purpose of making the comparison and knowing in which climatic period it is closest to the value obtained by the correlation to the value calculated in the laboratory by the Index test.
