Intervención escuela taller de Bogotá: la arquitectura y aprendizaje exaltando el patrimonio.

Abstract

La estación de la Sabana constituyó gran parte de la historia del centro de la ciudad, y es acreedora de la evolución a la modernidad en la Bogotá que se aprestaba a vivir el trepidante ritmo de profundas transformaciones. Es innegable la estimación que tuvo tal edificación, dada la importancia como centro de transporte y en nodo en el que se convirtió en la primera década de apertura. Sin embargo, con el cierre de la empresa de ferrocarriles (1991), el valor se ha desprendido crónicamente de la sociedad. De modo que surge la incógnita principal de este artículo ¿cómo por medio de la arquitectura se puede realzar el valor de la estación de la sabana, permitiendo entender que no es solo un área contenedora de historia, sino que es el fundamento que permite ver cuánto ha pasado para evolucionar, y de esta manera evitar que pase al olvido? Solo así, comprendiendo y descifrando la significación de la estación de la sabana, se llega al desglose de algunas actividades arquitectónicas que permitan el rescate de esta zona, resaltando no solo la fisionomía, sino el imaginario y la memoria involucrada en esta edificación transfigurada en el espejo del tiempo. De esta manera se pretende crear un punto de encuentro donde de tejan relaciones desde la historia la memoria y la cotidianidad por medio de la creación de diversos espacios: apertura del conjunto de la estación, diseño espacio público alrededor de la estación de la sabana e integración con otras áreas patrimoniales cercanas, reutilización edificios del conjunto de la estación para complementar algunos servicios institucionales y educativos, generar áreas de exposición y definición de la antigua estación del tren y resignificar elementos antiguos en complementos del espacio público.

The Estación de la Sabana constituted a great part of the history of the city center, and is a credit to the evolution to modernity in Bogotá, which was preparing to live the fast pace of profound transformations. It is undeniable the estimation that such a building had, given the importance as a transportation hub and node in which it became in the first decade of opening. However, with the closure of the railroad company (1991), the value has chronically detached from society. So the main question of this article arises: How through architecture can the value of the Savannah station be enhanced, allowing us to understand that it is not only an area containing history, but it is the foundation that allows us to see how much has happened to evolve, and thus prevent it from passing into oblivion? Only in this way, understanding and deciphering the significance of the savannah station, we arrive at the breakdown of some architectural activities that allow the rescue of this area, highlighting not only the physiognomy, but the imaginary and memory involved in this building transfigured in the mirror of time. In this way it is intended to create a meeting point where relationships are woven from history, memory and everyday life through the creation of various spaces: opening of the station complex, design of public space around the Savannah station and integration with other nearby heritage areas, reuse of buildings of the station complex to complement some institutional and educational services, generate exhibition areas and definition of the old train station and resignify old elements in public space complements.
