The construction industry is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in Colombia. However, the negative environmental externalities produced by the activities associated with mining their raw materials, make concrete production one of the biggest environmental challenges. In this sense, this research explores the modification of a concrete mixture whose manufacture involves the replacement of the fine aggregate () with recycled ground glass (VMR) with particle size less than 1,18 mm, obtained from waste from the manufacture of windows. An substitution of 17%, 20%, 23% and 26% (weight/weight) was used and the incorporation of the VMR was made through the adjustment of proportions of Method ACI 211.1. Parameters in a cool state such as settlement, unitary mass and air content were studied, where there was no significant incidence. As for the characteristics in a rigid state, results of mechanical resistance (´), capillary and configuration of the cementing matrix by means of SEM were analyzed. The data showed a significant improvement in ´ as the VMR content increases and an intensification of puzolanic reactivity at an early age is evident.eng
